This unit is super fine. Works great. Sturdy. Only downside is there is nothing to lock the bike to.Easy to install and I’m a 64 year old female. It had apparently been opened by someone else as the plastic bag with the nuts and bolts was open. Got it on my camper bumper. Had to remove spare but there is plenty of room for bike and tire to be mounted. Will be able to use for cooler or storage box if not taking bike. The brackets distributes the mount points across the rear bumper, Unlike the hitch type racks with a single trailer hitch slot. This hitch type slot connection can cause more shake and torque stress on thinner gauges bumpers. The downside is that the rack is not removable. I had to adjust the Left and Right racks so that my bike wheels fit into the tire slots. Again I liked this design, because the bikes were secure and bounced less than the 2 hook or single hook clamp racks. One of the racks has a vertical Extension that keeps side stress off the bike wheels, when stopping or starting. I wish both racks had the extension. I attached a 12 inch i bolt through the provided hole on the extension, So that I could strap down the bikes, I still needed to use several bungie cords to secure the bikes. The 2 hook and single hook clamp racks are a lot easier to tie down bikes. The bumper Racks are superior than bike racks attached to the RV Ladder, because it easier putting bikes on and you can position the rack in a place that the Bikes do not stick out. On my 5th wheel my water heater is located close to the RV ladder, when I used the ladder style rack, The bikes were always in the way (My water heater had a external on/off switch to when I want to use the electric heater instead of gas. This is a sturdy bike rack. I needed something that did not interfere when towing my trailer or car. I have a clamp on ball mount type bike carrier which did not have enough vertical clearance. This rack elevates the bike tires well above my tow bar or trailer ball mount without any problems. There was minor issues which I was able to overcome. The wheel slots closest to my RV were not wide enough for my wife's beach cruiser bike, but were perfect for my mountain bike. I wanted to put the heavier bike on the inside (closest to the motorhome) for less stress on the bumper/bike carrier. I cut one of the bars out of each tire carrier and rewelded it to accommodate the wider beach cruiser tires. Now the Electra beach cruiser fits snugly into the inside tire slots and stands securely on its own.It states 30 lbs per bike, so like an idiot I stood on each section and jumped up and down to test the limits of it's and my bumpers capacity to withstand 215 lbs of idiot + downward pressure from said idiot. I declare this product idiot proof. Well made and well done by our good friends in Canada. Many ask how to secure the bike to the rack. On the back of the right section, behind my seat post, is a J pole with an attachment hole at the top. I attach the hook from my strap to that then over my top bar and hook it to the section below , my strap is the red one running across the bike, holding it solid and immovable. This Swagman Rack is well made, heavy duty, but light weight with a good durable powder-coating. It was easy to install and looks nice on the back of my travel trailer. Even though I used the provided upright bar for added support, I left my spare tire rack on the bumper which allowed me to secure my two bicycles with a cable lock, providing even more support.I've transported our two adult size, heavy mountain bikes on three different trips for a total of approximately 2,000 miles. I couldn't be more satisfied with this product. I placed a 1"x2"x 48" oak board from the 3/8" hole at the top of the vertical upright of the bike rack to my ladder on the back of my 5th wheel trailer to keep the top of the bikes stable. Works perfectly. The handle bars on our bikes use a 6mm allen wrench to loosen so one can turn the handle bars 90 degrees. This takes about 5 seconds per bike and it prevents them from coming anywhere close to the trailer and doing damage. I face the bikes in different directions and use a soft strong rope to pull them down tightly from end to end. Done. They are not going to move. Send a wire rope lock thru the bikes and around the your trailer bumper. Now you don't have to worry about them when they are out of your sight. A great simple inexpensive product made in USA.Attached to the bumper of my travel trailer, this carrier holds two bikes securely. I use a rubber bungee cord to hold the bikes to the vertical support. I also have the issue of the inside bike handlebar touching the back of the trailer. I used a sock with some extra padding to cushion the spot. Spacing of the wheels of one of my bikes is slightly less than the other, so one bike tire does not fully seat, but it works well enough. I also ran a strap around the top bars of both bikes down to the carrier to ensure the bikes did not try to hop out of the carrier when going over bumps. My trailer is 30ft long, and I would think bumps could be magnified where they are located. Plus I can't see what is going on back there from the driver seat, so the strap adds peace of mind. Good sturdy product.Easy to install..If you want to keep your spare tire will need to modify your spare tire mount. Then the spare tire acts as a bumper for your bikes..I used bungie cords to secure the bikes and a pool noodle..The bike closest to the rv you will need to turn the handle bar so it does not hit your rv. I have included some picts showing the existing spare tire rack mount mods.WOW!! Bikes don't move at all we have done over 10 hours with 2 bikes on the rack no problems. Friends of ours have been following us and keep telling us the bikes don't move at all.. Two couples we travel with also RV'ers where so impressed they just placed a order for the same rack..I am updating my original review because originally I thought it wouldn't work as it needed to mount on my bumper and wouldn't clear the frame of the trailer. After asking others I was told it could mount under the bumper and I put it there. It mounted great and used it on our first trip and was told the bikes didn't move at all, other than with the actual trailer move. Worked great and way nicer than dumping muddy bikes into the trailer after camping. For people asking about the rear tire, I did mount mine there with the rear tire, I just moved the tire over to one side of the bumper and put the bike rack off to the other side, it worked great. That being said, I only have kids bikes on the back so they aren't huge, this may not work with larger bikes depending on how big they are.No complaints on the product itself but it does not work on my Trailer due to the Trailer angling out slightlytowards the bumper. When the rack was installed and the first bike attached, the bike handlebars were touching against the trailer. This is no fault of the manufacturer but people should be aware when ordering. Unfortunately, the rack arrived the day before we left for Vacation and by the time we returned I could no longer return it to for a refund - which is highly disappointing. Buyers Please Beware of these factors when ordering this rack. The product is well built, but it comes up short when you put the bikes on they lean towards and hit my camper. There is a J tube with a hole in the top obviously for something. That something would be a spacer to keep your bike from hitting the camper. Should be included but is not. Other than that I'm happy with it. Something I would expect from China not Canada!
