It was easier to install than I anticipated. If you have an older RV like us, I recommend cleaning the “tracks” for the cording with a toothbrush, then squirting a soapy solution in there to help make the cord slide easier. We have “automatic” awning arms that bend when the rain builds up (hydraulic pistons) so it can drain one side or the other and this fabric fit great. It was hard to do without a ladder. But a truck tailgate and a picnic table worked okay. It’s a two person job with the automatic arms because the roller tube is way up there and we can’t safely lower it. It must get unscrewed. Then you can let it down, cut the old awning fabric off, and put the new on. Make sure when you put the roller tub (with new fabric) back up, that you slide the tube ends into the grooves of the arm end caps. I wasn’t tall enough to see them to line them up, so my hubs had to reinstall the tube in both arms. But you’ve got to get that lined up for the screws to go back in.We have a 2010 Jayco Eagle Super Lite. Our awning spans both doors. The old one was destroyed in the SoCal desert. This one is lovely. I no longer dread rainy season in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Thanks for a great product!Okay, let's get the not so good out of the way first. If you're dumb enough to do this by yourself, it'll suck to be you. The installation isn't all that difficult, as long as you plan accordingly. I used 2 ladders, 1 to drape fabric across, and 1 to move 20 times getting the top slid in. Go crazy with the silicone spray, it'll save you a ton of grief. I used the tall ladder to balance the tube, again too much silicone is barely enough, lol. The worst part solo, was rolling the fabric to the top to install the arms. But with a whole lot of grunting, and cussing, I got it done. Critical step! Spen time to get cloth perfectly centered, otherwise it'll roll up crooked. Due to the weight of the fabric, (see below) I discovered that I needed to add more tension to the springs, which is a process, but now it's almost perfect. I added 5 more turns, should've went 8. Now the positive:This is way heavy duty, makes my old one look like tissue paper. It's completely opaque, and so far has dealt with gusty winds with no flutter. It provides excellent sun blocking. The color I chose matches my sun faded RV perfectly. Would I recommend this? Yep, 10/10. Was it worth the install drama? 10/10. Looking forward to a long drama free service life. Thanks!Material seems to be of good quality for the budget but not cheap buyer. It is not the thickest and best material out there but its not thin like some of the cheaper replacements. I purchased the 13mm product because I am not sure how long I will keep this camper because I already want a larger camper. It installed very easy and so far very satified with my purchase.I was replacing the rubber roof on my trailer and had to remove the awning as part of the process. I decided to replace the old, deteriorated awning at the same time. Simple enough process. Watch some YouTube videos to get a feel for how it is done. So far, it is good. Time will tell on the durability, but what are the odds I will sign on here and leave more feedback in five years?Take pics of the awning that you are removing, focus on the position in camper side rail, roller, and other areas that one may overlook. Make sure awning is secured at roller first before securing to side rail. Awning needs to be squared up. This replacement awning was slightly longer than original. There is slight sag in the middle even after resetting the pitch. When rolled up, idler arm doesn’t sit against camper as original did due to material length issue. I’m hoping this will shrink over time to take the slack out of it. We will see. ShadePro customer service is very helpful.I have a 1989 carriage Victoria 5th wheel camper that I'm assuming the awning was original I needed to replace it my local shop wanted about $600 to make me a new one I read all the reviews on Amazon about this one so I decided to buy it I finally got around to installing it today and I could not be happier with the quality of the product and ease of installation it had been better if I had another person but I was able to do it by myself wasn't easy taking into 18 ft awning but if anybody's interested in replacing theirs versus going to a local company to have it repaired I would say in my personal opinion as a mechanic get it because this company is top-notch very very happy with my purchase and I will include pictures at a later point in timeJust got it installed took 3 people about 2 hours start to finish (removed the old one with just 2 people but had to get a third to install the new one). Fit is perfect. Only issue is the color is more of a gray (see photo) ordered the slate blue fade the very bottom edge is what I would call a blue rest is more gray, the color works well on my motorhome but more of a blue would have been preferredExisting awning was disintegrating so I went ahead and ordered a replacement. Delivery was quick and pleased with fabric quality. Installation is mostly straight forward ( I watched a couple of you tubes to see how to sequence the task) and the instructions included were also helpful. I picked a sunny day and laid out the new awning on the ground to "warm" the fabic, reduce wrinkles from shipment, and make it easier to handle. Followed the instructions including the important step of pinning the spring before removing anything from the existing wornout awning. The most awkward part was feeding the new awning through the groove on the RV moulding. Since I was doing this myself, I rigged up a pulley at the far end and used a length of cording to enable to both push and pull the fabic. Took about 10 minutes to work it through but no real problems getting that done. Reversed the steps followed to disassemble and was finished in about an hour. this was a moderately difficult DIY project as you have to follow steps in sequence and be up on a ladder multiple times. Be careful as it can be awkward handling the fabric while on the ladder and especially careful of locking the spring tension on the roller mechanism. The new awing acts and looks like new. It has held up fine in towing and deployment. I installed this replacement awning on 1996 Gulf Stream Yellowstone Capri with a Carefree of Colorado original. The corded ends were very tight to fit into the top receiver slot on the rv and the 2 slots of the roller tube. This was even after using a wire brush to clean the grooves and using a lubricant spray. Definitely required 2 people to work it into the slots without tearing the fabric. It seemed like the grooves were slightly smaller than this awning was meant for. We got in though and the finished result is excellent. Very happy with it.Easy to install.Like the seller explain the sise is not perfect 12 foot is actualy smaller the seller shows the actuel sise. Thanks to the seller i mesure my roller and i was able to install a 13 foot instead of a 12 foot.Actually that gave me at lees 6 inches wider awning than the original one.TAANKS LOOK GREAT.This awning seems to be a quality product and was easy to install. Took us about 2.5 hours to put it on and that's not bad for a 21 foot awning that's 11 feet off the ground!! Got another awning coming for our son's little trailer and it should be a piece of cake as it is only an 11 foot awning about 8 feet off the ground. So far quite happy with this, just have to see how durable it is.
